Container #40 (Joyful Succulents #12): Devil’s Backbone

May 22, 2020 By Cindy Jungman, SDSU Extension Master Gardener

The zig-zag shape of the stems on the middle plant gives it the name “Devil’s Backbone!” The leaves of the Devil’s Backbone plant will take on a pink hue as the summer goes on. The “Calico Kittens” plant surrounding the center plant is a beautiful trailing succulent with beautiful pink and green shades to its leaves.

RECIPE:
• (1) Euphorbia tithymaloides “Devil’s Backbone”
• (1) Crassula pellucida variegate “Calico Kittens”

TIPS:
• Both these plants do well as house plants in winter.
