2023 Sioux Falls Community Garden Registration is now open!
Do you want to learn the basics of gardening? Refine your gardening skills? Have an opportunity to share your extra garden bounty with others? Register for a garden plot at the Sioux Falls Community Gardens and see what you can grow!
The Sioux Falls Community Garden program allows Sioux Falls residents to rent garden plots approximately 200 square feet in size. Each plot has a rental fee of $20. Water and tilling are provided. SDSU Extension Master Gardener Team Leaders supervise the gardens and enforce good gardening practices such as planting something by May 31, keeping the gardens/paths free of weeds, cleaning off the gardens, etc.
This effort is led by the SDSU Extension Master Gardeners with support from the City of Sioux Falls, private businesses, churches and more than 250 individual gardeners in seven different gardens across Sioux Falls including:
Falls Park (Downtown, 1200 N. Phillips Ave.)
First International Bank and Trust (700 block of South Spring Ave., west of the bank).
Leaders Park (North Leadale Ave. at East 6th St.).
Lincoln Elementary (9th and Grange).
Memorial Park (W. 26th St. & Discovery Ave.).
Southern Hills United Methodist Church (3400 East 49th St.)
University of South Dakota Sioux Falls (formerly University Center, 4801 N. Career Ave.).
All gardeners need to review and agree to follow the Community Garden Guidelines.
Applications are open during January through February 28.
New gardeners should complete the online application at www.livewellsiouxfalls.org.
Returning gardeners should contact their team leader about participating in the 2023 season.
